Why YouHive exists
YouHive was born from a simple observation. Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.
As a student, Kai Gomersall saw firsthand how the gap between education and employment was widening. Capable students were graduating into uncertainty. Employers were struggling to find emerging talent they could trust.
Together with Trent and Sonia, Kai set out to build a platform that changes that equation: one that connects learning to real opportunity through verified capability, industry engagement, and a community that grows with you.
We believe the next generation of talent deserves more than a CV and a job board. They deserve a fair shot.

Every student deserves a fair opportunity to begin a career they are passionate about.
At YouHive, we believe every student deserves a fair opportunity to begin a career they are passionate about. Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not always equally accessible. Our purpose is to help bridge that gap by creating a platform where every student has the opportunity to connect with employers based on their potential, capability and aspirations.
We are committed to providing an inclusive, accessible and equitable experience for everyone. Whether you live in regional, rural or metropolitan Australia or New Zealand; are neurodivergent; live with disability; are starting your career in your 20s, changing careers in your 50s, or returning to the workforce; identify as male, female, non-binary or prefer not to say; or come from any cultural, ethnic or social background, YouHive is designed to support equal access to opportunity.
We recognise that some students may require reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process. We encourage employers using YouHive to provide inclusive recruitment practices and, where appropriate, make reasonable adjustments to ensure every candidate can participate on an equal basis. We also encourage students to let employers know if adjustments would assist them during any stage of the recruitment process.
Fair Work & Ethical Employment
YouHive is committed to promoting fair, safe and ethical employment practices for every student and graduate. We believe that internships, graduate programs and early career opportunities should provide genuine learning, meaningful work and fair treatment.
We actively support the prevention and elimination of modern slavery and exploitative labour practices in all forms. We do not support opportunities that exploit vulnerable workers or use unpaid or underpaid labour where remuneration is legally required. We encourage employers to comply with all applicable employment, workplace and anti-discrimination laws, including Australia's Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), and equivalent legislation in New Zealand.
Where internships or work placements are advertised through YouHive, we encourage employers to ensure they:
- •provide a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace;
- •offer fair remuneration where required by law;
- •clearly communicate expectations, supervision and learning outcomes;
- •provide meaningful development opportunities that support a student's transition into the workforce; and
- •uphold ethical recruitment and employment practices that respect the dignity and rights of every individual.
Our goal is to help create a future where every student can begin their career with confidence, knowing they are entering workplaces that value fairness, inclusion and respect.
